The National Union of Ghana Catholic Diocesan Priests’ Associations (NUGCDPA) has confirmed that its 28th National and 16th Biennial Congress will take place from January 3-6 in the Koforidua Diocese.
The congress is expected to take place at the Centre for National Culture, Koforidua on the theme, “A Synodal Church and the Welfare of the Diocesan Priest in a Changing World.”
It will also present an opportunity for all Diocesan Priests within Ghana to meet and reflect deeply on their priestly identity and mission. Particularly, in the context of the theme of the Congress, to share fraternal love and to learn from brother priests among others.
Public Relations Officer of NUGCDPA, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Obeng Codjoe told Catholic Trends that about 600 Diocesan Priests from across the country are expected to attend.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is expected to attend as a Guest of Honour. Ing. Dr. Kenneth Ashigbey will attend as Chairman of the occasion. Whereas the Omanhene of New Juaben Traditional Area, Daasebre Kwaku Boateng III and Mr. John Tandoh, Lecturer at St. Gregory of the Great Provincial Major Seminary, Parkoso are expected to be in attendance as Guest of Honour and Keynote Speaker respectively.
