Parish Priest of the St. Patrick Catholic Church, Kwabenya-Atomic, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Salifu has said the parish community will from February 2023 begin a bible school.
According to him, the move is part of the parish’s bible sharing programme and is aimed at equipping participants with tools to be able to handle bible texts very well.
“Every Church must have bible sharing but we are doing the bible school because we see many people misquoting the Bible because they read it out of context and use it to create more confusion and division than it should,” Fr. Salifu told Catholic Trends.
He argued that “If you look at the formation that we have, for most people, we were taught catechesis without knowing the biblical basis for our faith. So even though they understand the catechism and some of the teachings of the Church intellectually, they cannot relate it to the Bible so to give a specific biblical foundation for faith.”
The Bible School which is open to the public will treat a range of topics and will take place on the second and the fourth Sunday of every month at 5 pm at the Parish at Atomic.
