The Accra Archdiocese has announced that it will commence a Lenten Catechism Series on Ash Wednesday, February 22, 2023, marking the start of the Lenten season.
The announcement of the Lenten Catechism Series was made by the Metropolitan Archbishop of Accra, Most Rev. John Bonaventure Kwofie at the 4th Edition of the Archdioceses Conversations in the Cathedral held in December, 2022.
The Lenten Catechism Series, which will be led by priests and lay catechists, will aim to provide priests and the lay faithful of the Archdiocese with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of the Catholic faith and to prepare spiritually for Easter.
According to the Archbishop of Accra, Most Reverend John Bonaventure Kwofie, the Lenten Catechism Series will take place every week during the grace of the Lenten season and would have small groups participate via zoom.
The Archbishop has encouraged all to participate in the Lenten Catechism Series as a way to strengthen their spiritual lives and to grow closer to God.
The Conversation in the Cathedral and The Lenten Catechism Series are initiatives of the Metropolitan Archbishop of Accra, Most Rev. John Bonaventure Kwofie. The ecumenical events seek to bring together both secular and religious leaders to discuss issues of common concern.
