The St. Anthony Commandery No. 405 together with the Our Lady of Mercy Ladies Auxiliary No. 340 of the Knights of St. John International organized a Charity Outreach dubbed “Breakfast with the Residents.” as part of efforts to put their faith into practice.
The event was held on Easter Monday at No Man’s Land in Community 6-Tema, where the underprivileged members of the society were treated with hot breakfast meals.
According to a representative of the Commandry, Gerald Woode who spoke with Catholic Trends, the outreach follows the three tenets of Lent and presents an excellent opportunity for Catholics and Christians to rekindle their relationship with God.
“There are three tenets of the season before Eater, which are prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. Catholics have the chance to rekindle their relationship with God throughout the Lenten season. Catholics and Christians use this time to show courtesy to the underprivileged members of society.” he stated.
The event was organized to mark the 50th Anniversary celebration of St. Anthony Commandery No 405.
The residents of Community 6-Tema were delighted to receive the warm breakfast meals and expressed their gratitude to the organizers. The event has been received with great enthusiasm by the residents, who believe that such initiatives are essential for the betterment of their community.
The Charity Outreach event “Breakfast with the Residents” has been widely appreciated by the community, and the organizers are planning to carry out similar charitable initiatives in the future.
Senior officers from the Supreme Subordinate Commandery, Accra East Grand Commandery, and Ladies Auxiliary were present at the event to witness the charitable work being carried out by the organizers.
It can be recalled that Catholics around the world mark the Monday after Easter Sunday as Easter Picnic Day. The day is noted to be an important day for Catholics as it provides an opportunity to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, spend time with loved ones, and reflect on the significance of the day. It is a time for renewal, joy, and thanksgiving, and it can be a meaningful way to deepen one’s faith and relationship with God.
