Fr. David Micheal, in a Facebook post downplayed the numbers, stating that he didn’t really care about them. He was, however, quick to point out that what he cared about was the salvation of souls.
Each confession, he said, was a beautiful moment of grace, and he considered it a privilege to be able to help people walk out of the confessional as new creations.
The priest, who has been said that he had never heard so many confessions in a single week before. Despite the long hours and the emotional toll of listening to people’s confessions and struggles, Fr. David Micheal said that he loved being a priest and considered it an honor to serve his community.
“I wasn’t there when Jesus came back to life,” he wrote. “But I saw 1167 people come back to life last week. Each confession was like a resurrection, a new beginning for the soul. It’s an incredible feeling to be a witness to that kind of transformation.”
