About 75 unemployed youth from the Accra Province have participated in a two-day entrepreneurship and soft Skills Training Workshop at St. Paul’s Catholic Seminary Sowutuom Accra.
The participants were drawn from the Arch/Dioceses of Accra, Koforidua, Ho, Keta-Akatsi and Jasikan.
The training workshop under the auspicious of the Governance, Peace and Justice Directorate of the National Catholic Secretariat was held on from April 14 to April 15, 2023.
The Training Workshop is to equip the youth of the Catholic Church to create their own employment opportunities rather than waiting on the government to employ them.
The Workshop afforded the participants knowledge on how to start a business in Ghana, skills employers are looking for from employees as well as preparing for job interviews among others.
Rev. Fr. Clement K. Adjei, Director of Governance, Justice and Peace of the National Catholic Secretariat urged participants to use the time at their disposal to learn new skills in order to be employers rather than employees.
