Wa: Brother of late Cardinal Kuuia Baawobr, Fr. Maalo Ekpaa passes on

The Rector of Holy Spirit quasi-parish in Charia in the Catholic Diocese of Wa, Rev. Fr. Maalo Ekpaa, CSSp has died.

The 59 years old priest is said to have died in his sleep on Sunday, April 23 in the presbytery at Charia.

“In union with Very Rev. Fr. Annan Raphael, the Provincial Superior of the Congregation of the Holy Spirit, Ghana/Benin, we wish to inform you with profound sorrow and pain that Rev. Fr. Maalo Ekpaa, CSSp, died peacefully in his sleep on the night of 22nd April 2023, in the presbytery at Charia. He could not wake up this morning, Sunday, 23rd April 2023,” A statement released by the office of the Diocesan Administrator of Wa Diocese said.

Late Fr. Maalo Ekpaa shares the same mother with the late Bishop of Wa, Cardinal Richard Kuuia Baawobr MAfr.

Fr. Ekpaa has been serving as the Rector of Holy Spirit quasi-parish in Charia since 2021.
