SVD Ghana-Liberia Province to welcome 7 new priests

The Society of the Divine Word, SVD Ghana-Liberia Province, is preparing to celebrate a momentous occasion as seven candidates who have completed their years of formation will be ordained as priests.

The ordination ceremony, set to take place on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at the Our Lady of Annunciation Catholic Cathedral, promises to be a significant event for both the candidates and their families and the SVD community.

Leading the ordination ceremony will be Most Rev. Philip Naameh, the Archbishop of the Tamale Archdiocese. With his guidance and blessings, the candidates will embark on their sacred journey of serving the church and its faithful.

The seven candidates who will be ordained as priests are Rev. Vitalis Naameh, SVD, Rev. Thomas Asamane, SVD, Rev. Peter Kumor, SVD, Rev. Joshua Munterim, SVD, Rev. James Wormenor, SVD, Rev. Godwin Mensah, SVD, Rev. Anthony Larweh, SVD.

Rev. Salaam Peter Kojo Pakinyennu, M.Afr belonging to the Missionaries of Africa will also be ordained.

Each of these individuals has demonstrated unwavering dedication and commitment to their faith throughout their years of formation, and by the mercies of God, receive the Sacrament of Holy Orders, getting the opportunity to serve in the vineyard of the Lord as priests.
