A heartfelt send-off mass was held on Sunday, August 20th, at the Sacred Heart Cathedral-Ho Bankoe, in the Ho Diocese as the congregation came together to honor Rev. Fr. David Zatey for his dedicated service as the Assistant Administrator of the Cathedral.
After seven years of devoted service, Fr. Zatey has completed his role at the Cathedral and is embarking on a new chapter of his ministry as the new Parish Priest of the Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Ho Kpevele (Police Depot)
The solemn event was a moment of reflection and gratitude as parishioners, fellow clergy members, and well-wishers gathered to express their deep appreciation for Fr. Zatey’s contributions during his time at the Cathedral.
During the send-off mass, emotions ran high as prayers, hymns, and words of gratitude filled the sacred space. Parishioners shared their fond memories and the positive impact that Fr. Zatey had on their lives.
His compassionate nature, tireless dedication, and unwavering commitment to his ministry were highlighted by those who had the privilege of knowing him closely.
As part of the occasion, the congregation extended their well wishes and blessings to Fr. Zatey for his new assignment at St. Francis Of Assisi Parish in Ho, Kpevele. The transition marks a new phase in Fr. Zatey’s priestly journey, and the prayers of the community accompany him as he takes on new responsibilities.
The send-off mass also held a momentous significance as 52 candidates received the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist during the service.
This addition to the event added an air of spiritual renewal and growth, symbolizing the continuity of faith and the nurturing of the spiritual community that Fr. Zatey has been an integral part of at the Sacred Heart Cathedral.
The send-off Mass was co-celebrated by the Very Rev. Fr. Isaac Benuyenah, the Cathedral Administrator of the Catholic Diocese of Ho, along with other priests. The event was witnessed by parishioners of the Cathedral Parish.
