Catechists in the Catholic Archdiocese of Accra will converge tomorrow, August 26 at the St. Bakhita Catholic Church, Lashibi to observe a “Catechists’ Day with the Archbishop.”
The day which will be marked with a Eucharistic Celebration and other socialisation activities is aimed at celebrating Catechists in the Archdiocese for their dedication and commitment to the Church.
The Catechists will also have an open forum to share their challenges and grievances towards a better apostolate.
Over the years, the Catechists’ Day with the Archbishop saw only commissioned Catechists at the event. But, the Metropolitan Archbishop of Accra, Most Rev. John Bonaventure Kwofie encouraged that the day should be set aside to celebrate both Catechists and their spouses.
As a result, spouses of Catechists are expected to grace the event scheduled for tomorrow for the second time.
It will be recalled that the Most Rev. John Bonaventure Kwofie has been on leave since the return of the Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference from their 2023 Ad Limina visit to Rome early this year. Hence, one of his Auxiliaries, Bishop John Kobina Louis will lead the Catechists and their spouses in tomorrow’s celebrations.
