The Ghana National Catholic Youth Council has elected a new set of leaders for its next leadership tenure.
The Election formed part of the 47th Annual General Council Meeting (AGCM) of GHANCYC which was held at Franciscan Valley of Prayer and Silence at Afrangua Saltpond in the Cape Coast Archdiocese.
The new GHANCYC Executives include Chairperson Mathias Waliba Justice from the Kumasi Ecclesiastical Province,
Vice Chairman Mattew Adda from Tamale Ecclesiastical Province and Godwin Kwame Boateng from the Cape Coast Ecclesiastical Province.
They will be supported by the National Youth Chaplain, Rev. Fr. James Bour-Mensah and the General Secretary, Dennis Appiah-Sasraku whose positions are by appointment by the Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference.
The approved GHANCYC constitution states that the age range for a candidate to contest for an election shall be 15-29 years.
Bishop Asiedu who administered the oath of office urged the newly elected Executives to work in the interest of the Catholic youth and not rule themselves.
He urged all Catholic youth to give maximum support to the New executives.
The newly elected GHANCYC Chairman Mathias Waliba Justice appreciated the outgoing chairman Joseph Besigrinee for his achievements as the GHANCYC Chairman.
He called on all youth leaders to support the new administration in order to build a better Catholic Youth in Ghana.
