Brigadier General Sir Prof. Anthony Amalba of the Knights of St. John International & Ladies’ Auxiliary, Ghana, has been honored by the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana.
He was conferred the highest honor of Fellow by the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana for his exemplary contributions to the growth and development of the pharmacy profession in Ghana.
Brig. Gen. Sir Prof. Amalba received this recognition at the 23rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana, which took place in Takoradi from September 4 – 8, 2023, under the theme “The Pharmacist for National Development.”
Brigadier General Sir Prof. Amalba is an Associate Professor in Health Professions Education at the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (SPPS) of the University for Development Studies (UDS). He is a registered pharmacist with over 28 years of professional experience, having worked in regulatory, hospital, and community settings.
He is a Fellow of the West Africa Postgraduate College of Pharmacists and the Ghana Postgraduate College of Pharmacists. He has participated in and presented papers at international and local conferences.
His research interests encompass health professions education, including problem-based learning and Community-Based Education and Service, inter-professional education, curriculum development, and pharmacy practice.
