The Catholic Archdiocese of Accra is grieving the loss of one of its beloved priests, Fr. Peter Baddoo, who passed away this morning, October 20, at the HealthLink Hospital in Accra.
The news was confirmed in a communique issued by the Metropolitan Archbishop of Accra, Most Rev. John Bonaventure Kwofie.
Fr. Peter Baddoo, born on 10th March, 1944, dedicated his life to the service of the church and was ordained as a priest for the Archdiocese of Accra on 2nd July, 1978. He was 79 years old at the time of his passing.
In the communique dated October 20, Archbishop Kwofie expressed his profound sadness at the loss of a dedicated member of the clergy. He called on all priests, religious sisters and brothers, and the faithful of the Archdiocese to remember Fr. Peter Baddoo in their prayers.
“With great sadness, I regret to announce to you the death of Fr. Peter Baddoo. The sad event occurred this morning at the HealthLink Hospital,” Archbishop Kwofie said.
He requested that Holy Masses be offered for the peaceful repose of Fr. Baddoo’s soul and for strength and consolation for his bereaved family.
The communique also conveyed the condolences of the entire Archdiocese to the family of Fr. Peter Baddoo, recognizing the deep sorrow and grief that his passing has brought to all who knew and loved him.
Burial arrangements for Fr. Peter Baddoo will be communicated to the Archdiocese of Accra at a later date.
