The youth of St. James Catholic Church in Osu embarked on a spiritually invigorating journey from Friday, October 20th, to Sunday, October 22nd, as they gathered at Adom Fie in Kumasi. The camp offered a unique blend of spirituality, education, and self-discovery, all strengthened by the bonds of friendship and faith.
The retreat at Adom Fie featured a diverse range of activities, all designed to rejuvenate spirits and deepen connections with the divine. The experience commenced with a powerful Worship Night on Friday evening, setting a spiritually charged tone for the weekend. The pinnacle of this night was the Midnight Mass, where, under the starlit sky, participants celebrated their faith from 12:00 am to 1:00 am.
As the dawn broke, attendees gathered for early morning prayers on Saturday at 4:30 am, offering a serene and reflective start to the day. The 6:30 am Morning Mass further united everyone in worship and prayer.
The camp also provided thought-provoking conferences on topics such as “Youth and God” and “Understanding Who You Are.” These sessions opened the door for open discussions among the remarkable young men and women present, enabling deeper exploration of faith, identity, and various moral and social issues.
Moments of quiet reflection and confession offered the opportunity to renew commitments to their faith. Divine Mercy and Rosary prayers deepened their spiritual connections.
While deepening their faith was the focus, the camp was not without moments of fun and games. Spiritual challenges like “Draw Your Sword” and “New or Old Testament” tested participants’ knowledge in a lighthearted manner.
