On February 14 this year, while many will be celebrating a day of love, Catholics and other Christian sects will be commencing the start of a season of prayer and fasting known as Lent.
During Lent, which begins on Ash Wednesday and ends at sundown on Holy Thursday, Christians throughout the world take part in rituals to prepare to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ on Easter.
