The Parishioners of St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in Odorkor are preparing to celebrate a significant milestone – the 55th anniversary of the church’s establishment.
The year-long anniversary, which was launched in December 2023, will culminate in a grand Thanksgiving Mass on Sunday, December 15th, 2024 which will be presided over by the Apostolic Nuncio to Ghana, Most Rev. Henryk Mieczyslaw Jagondzinski.
The anniversary under the theme, “55 years of Catholic Mission in Odorkor – Fostering the growth of Catholicism through selfless service – Lessons from the Past,” will feature a variety of activities which include a children’s chorale concert, Bible School, Public lecture, Youth Month, and a Business Fair and Exhibition.
The Odorkor St. John the Baptist Catholic Church was established in 1969 by four gentlemen who came together to proclaim the Catholic faith to residents of Odorkor and its environs.
