On Friday, February 9, as part of the week’s celebrations, all the children attended the Youth Mass in their numbers, where they were urged to know much more about the Catholic faith.
This was then followed by a clean-up of the church’s premises on Saturday, February 10, 2024.
During the Mass to climax the Holy Childhood Week, the children were allowed to perform various roles, including, but not limited to, ushering, mass serving, readings, prayer of faithful, and bringing of offertory. The children also handed an “appeal letter” to the Priest-in-charge, concerning their needs.
The Priest-in-charge of the parish, Father John Jomat, of the Carmelite of Mary Immaculate (C.M.I.), a missionary priest from India; expressed his gratitude to the animators for their hard work, and further emphasized on the importance of the children in the Catholic church.
Fr. Jomat referred to the gospel of the day, talking about how Jesus healed the leper and set him free, thus stressing on the need of prayer through our spiritual life by having faith in God wherever we find ourselves.
The Priest encouraged the children to be truthful and work hard in achieving their dreams, going on to entreat parents to also help their wards to realize the purpose for which they are called.
All children present for the Holy Childhood Week climax Mass wore attires showcasing the careers in which they have interest.
