Some Catholic youth who are participating in this year’s Accra Zonal Provincial Study Session say they are confident that this year’s session will afford them the opportunity to learn and contribute to the development of the youth front in their various parishes and Dioceses.
Speaking to Catholic Trends, Bridget Dompreh a youth leader in the Ho Deanery said the Study Session will allow her to learn more about youth leadership in the Catholic Church and also build skills of her youth in the Parish.
For his part, the Accra Provincial Vice Chairperson, Nicholas W.K Kodzo, expressed optimism that this year’s event will be a transformative experience for the youth, positioning them as catalysts for impactful change.
The 2024 Edition of the Accra Provincial Study Session which commenced on Thursday, February, 22 and is expected to close Sunday, February 25 is taking place at the Alphons Martin’s Centre in the Apostolic Vicariate of Donkokrom.
The study session is bringing together youth from the Six Dioceses in the Accra Provence of the Church in Ghana. Namely, the Accra Archdiocese, Koforidua Diocese, Ho Diocese, Keta-Akatsi Diocese, Jasikan Diocese and the host, the Apostolic Vicariate of Donkokrom.
The theme for this year’s Study Session is “Practical Implementation of Catholic Social Teachings.” The four-day programme according to organizers promises to be an exciting event for the youth, as they deliberate on the new youth policy and other issues affecting the youth of the church.
It also presents a valuable opportunity for Catholic youth to enhance their knowledge and contribute to the development of the youth front within their Parishes and Dioceses.
