Caritas Ghana, a leading humanitarian and development organization, seeks a passionate and experienced leader with a deep commitment to Catholic Social Teaching (CST) to join our team as Executive Director.
About Caritas Ghana:
Caritas Ghana, the charity arm of the Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference (GCBC), is a member of the Caritas Internationalis and Caritas Africa confederation. We focus on emergency relief, livelihood development, health care, education and peace building.
About the Role:
The Executive Director shall be a visionary and results-oriented leader with a deep understanding of the Ghanaian context, the development sector and Catholic Social Teaching. You will be responsible for:
- Providing strategic leadership and direction for Caritas Ghana, setting the overall vision and mission aligned with CST principles.
- Overseeing all operational aspects of the organization, ensuring efficient and effective program implementation guided by CST values.
- Representing Caritas Ghana at national and international levels, building relationships with key stakeholders.
- Resource mobilization and fundraising to secure financial sustainability for the organization.
- Leading and motivating a team of dedicated staff and volunteers, fostering a work environment that reflects CST principles.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as public administration, development studies, social work, or business administration.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in senior leadership positions within the non-profit or development sector.
- Proven track record of success in leading and managing complex organizations aligned with the Catholic Social Teaching (CST).
- Strong understanding of the Ghanaian context and the development challenges faced by the country.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in English and proficiency in French is a plus.
- Demonstrated understanding and commitment to Catholic Social Teaching (CST) is essential.
