The St. Paul’s Seminary, Sowutuom is offering a sanctuary for spiritual renewal with its upcoming Annual 40-Hour Adoration Program.
The theme, “Be with me Lord,” is in synch with the invitation extended to the faithful all over the country to join in prayer and contemplation at the St. Paul’s Seminary Chapel from the 8th to the 10th of March 2024.
During the 40-hour period, attendees will have the opportunity to spend time in quiet reflection, offering prayers of thanksgiving, supplication, and adoration before the exposed Blessed Sacrament. It is a time for individuals to draw closer to God, seeking His presence, guidance, and grace in their lives.
The tradition of adoration of the Blessed Sacrament has deep roots in Catholicism, tracing back to the belief in the real presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist.
According to Catholic doctrine, during the celebration of the Mass, the bread and wine consecrated by the priest become the body and blood of Christ.
After the celebration, any remaining consecrated hosts are placed in a special vessel called a monstrance and displayed for adoration.
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is a solemn and reverent practice where Catholics gather to pray and meditate in the presence of the consecrated host, believing that they are truly in the presence of Jesus Christ. It is a time for worship, reflection, and spiritual communion with God.
