In celebration of their 10th anniversary, the Knights of St. John International, commandery number 833 and Ladies’ Auxiliary number 718 of the St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Ashale Botwe, Accra, paid a visit to the Metropolitan Catholic Archbishop of Accra, The Most Rev. John Bonaventure Kwofie, CSSp on March 2.
Under the theme “A Decade of Witnessing Faith, Charity, and Fraternity” based on John 1:6-8, the group expressed gratitude to Archbishop Kwofie for his leadership and congratulated him on his 5th anniversary as the Metropolitan Archbishop of Accra.
Lieutenant Augustine Asafo – Adjei, the Worthy President, commended the Archbishop for the development seen in the archdiocese during his tenure.
In response, Archbishop Kwofie thanked the Knights and Ladies for their visit, urging them to continue upholding the faith and serving the Catholic Church.
Sister Lydia Anderson, the Respected President, presented an undisclosed donation on behalf of the group, which Archbishop Kwofie acknowledged and stated would support the ongoing Legacy of Hope Project in the Archdiocese.
Sir Knight Cornelius Dordunu, who chairs the Liturgical committee and serves as a Catechist, informed the Archbishop that the group would hold their Lenten recollection at the Archbishop Andoh Catechetical and Retreat Centre at Shai Hills to spiritually prepare for the Easter season.
The visit concluded with prayers led by Sister Yvonne Bonsra and Brother Philip Fataa, as the group expressed their blessings for the Archbishop and the Catholic Archdiocese of Accra.
