The Kumasi Ecclesiastical Province Catholic Youth Council (KEPCYC) held its Provincial elections during the 2024 Provincial Study Session and Annual General Council Meeting held at the Divine Province Center, Jamasi in the Catholic Diocese of Konongo Mampong.
New leaders for the province emerged from this meeting.
They are Asamoah Twumasi Vondee from the Goaso Diocese as Chairperson, Priscilla Afransah from the Archdiocese of Kumasi Archdiocese and Micheal Adjei from the Obuasi Diocese as Secretary.
The rest are Augustina Aku-Sika Opoku also from Obuasi Diocese as Financial Secretary and Lawrencia Konamah from the Diocese of Sunyani as Public Relations Officer.
Speaking to Catholic Trends, the newly elected Provincial Chairperson Mr. Asamoah Twumasi Vondee, expressed gratitude to the youth for entrusting them with the responsibility to serve the youth of the province.
He emphasized the commitment of his administration to serving the Kumasi Ecclesiastical Province Catholic Youth with dedication, aiming to bring about a positive impact on the Catholic Church.
Mr. Vondee also indicated his administration will focus on fostering collaborative relationships among the various Dioceses and extend programs beyond the Diocesan levels to engage youth at the Deaneries, Parishes, and outstations.
He promised all youth across the country a prestigious homage for the upcoming Ghana Version of the World Youth Day which will be hosted by the Sunyani Diocese.
The Provincial Youth Chaplain Rev. Fr Emmanuel Sarpong congratulated the new leaders and urged them to embrace the teachings of the Church as they represent the face of the youth in the Province.
He called on all youth to support and always pray for the new leaders for the growth of the Catholic Church.
