The Catholic Archdiocese of Accra is gearing up to launch a Youth Congress on March 24, 2024 at the Holy Spirit Cathedral.
Scheduled for March 24th, 2024, immediately following the 9am Mass, the launch will serve as a beacon of unity and inspiration for young Catholics across the region.
The invitation, extended by Rev. Fr. Alphonse Bulloro, Youth Chaplain for the Archdiocese of Accra said “We humbly extend our invitation to all members of our faith community to join us in this momentous occasion,”
The launch will feature a series of activities designed to engage and empower youth participants, fostering a sense of community and spiritual growth.
With the support of clergy members and faithful parishioners, the Congress aims to address contemporary challenges facing young Catholics while nurturing their faith and leadership skills.
The move is in line with the focus on youth and children in the Archdiocese by Most Rev. John Bonaventure Kwofie, Archbishop of Accra.
In December 2023, the Archbishop announced “Helping Children to seek Christ: From Discovery to Discipleship” as the common theme for all Churches in the Archdiocese for the year 2024.
The focus was to prioritize the spiritual growth and development of the younger members within the Archdiocese.
In a November 2024 statement addressed to priests, religious and laity of Accra, Archbishop Kwofie expressed the significance of this theme, aligning it with the recent call by the Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference to foster the growth of the Catholic Church.
