Members of the National Union of Ghana Catholic Diocesan Priests’ Associations (NUGCDPA) are congratulating Bishop-Elect of the Konongo-Mampong Diocese, Ghana, Msgr. John Opoku-Agyemang for his appointment by Pope Francis as a Bishop.
The national body of Diocesan Priests’ Associations is also pledging support and prayers for a member who is now the Second Bishop in the history of the Konongo-Mampong Diocese.
A statement signed by the President of the NUGCDPA, Very Rev. Fr. Thaddeus Kuusah said “Congratulations, Bishop-Elect Congratulations to you, Rev. Msgr. John Opoku-Agyemang Rector of the St. Gregory the Great Provincial Major Seminary, Parkoso, on the occasion of your nomination, as the second Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Konongo-Mampong.”
The statement further said “You have been a member of the Union since your Priestly Ordination on the 22nd of January, 1984. As the National Union of Ghana Catholic Diocesan Priests’ Associations (NUGCDPA), we would like to pledge our support and pray that the good Lord who has chosen you as a Bishop will continue to bless and give you the needed gifts to exercise your new office.”
“We pray that Our Lady of Assumption, on whose feast day you were born in 1957, will intercede for you always. Once again, congratulations,” the statement added”
