Youth in the Catholic Diocese of Ho have organized picnic games to climax the Easter festivities.
The Ho township picnic is an annual event which brings together Catholic Youth within the Ho enclave to dine and fraternise with each other.
They participated in games such as football, volleyball, ludo, basketball, draft, Chair dance, cards and owarie.
Chairman of the Planning Committee Chairperson, Frank Lawoe told Catholic Trends the essence of the programme was to inform the world that the resurrection of Christ has brought unity, oneness and new life to mankind and serves as a platform for the Catholic Youth to connect, share ideas, and work towards the growth of the Church.
He called for collaboration from the Local Pastoral Councils of the various parishes to come on board for a collective effort in planning which will lead to more successful and impactful events in the future.
St. James Catholic Church, last year’s champions retained their position after beating St. Francis of Assisi Parish youth on penalties.
Rev. Fr Godwin Eli Pasah, Assisting Parish Priest of Sacred Heart Cathedral and Priest in Charge of winning Parish said their victory was a collaborative effort from the parishioners and the instrumentality of his youth executives.
Fr. Pasah urged Catholic youth within the Ho township to have a united front in order to build the church structurally and spiritually.
He encouraged the youth to not only focus on building a stronger Church but also nurturing stronger family bonds through participation in organized programs.
