Management of the Catholic University of Ghana (CUG) and the Alumni Association of the institution have signed an agreement for the construction of a Police Post at the Fiapre Campus.
The agreement outlines the roles and responsibilities of both parties, with CUG providing a parcel of land for the project and the Alumni Association spearheading efforts to secure support from the Odomase Municipal Police Command for the proper siting of the Police Post.
With an estimated cost of GH¢200,000.00, the facility will include charge and administrative offices, furnished with necessary equipment, washrooms, and an open terrace.
Mr. Emmanuel Taah-Amoako, President of the CUG Alumni Association, emphasized that the project is a means of giving back to their alma mater and ensuring the safety of current and future students on campus.
Professor Daniel Obeng-Ofori, the Vice Chancellor of the University, hailed the construction of the Police Post as a crucial development in safeguarding not only the students and staff but also the businesses and residents in the University’s catchment areas.
Professor Obeng-Ofori commended the Executives of the Alumni Association for their proactive initiative in driving the project forward.
The signing ceremony was attended by key stakeholders including Mr. Emmanuel Kaba, Registrar of the University, Mr. Isaac Appiah Amankwa, Secretary, and Ms. Eunice Dorgbetor from the CUG Alumni Association.
