Most Reverend Emmanuel Kofi Fianu, S.V.D, Bishop of Ho Diocese and Vice President of the Ghana Catholic Bishop’s Conference, has urged Christians to support the less privileged in society, noting that they need our care and assistance.
Bishop Fianu made the appeal when he donated medical supplies to the Cured Lepers Village in Ho.
According to him, the donation is part of his annual support to the cured lepers through the Divine Word Missionaries since becoming the Chief Shepherd of the Diocese. He encouraged all Christians to come to their aid and support them regularly.
Nelson Atito, Caretaker of the Village, expressed gratitude to Bishop Fianu and appealed to the general public and non-governmental organisations to come to their aid and offer support, as they rely on benevolent donations.
Susan Enyaku, Nurse in Charge of the Village, noted that the medical supplies will significantly complement the health needs of the cured lepers.
