His Lordship John Alphonse Asiedu, SVD, Bishop of the Apostolic Vicariate of Donkorkrom, visited the Department of Social Communication (DEPSOCOM) of the Vicariate. During his visit, he reassured the team of his unwavering support.
Bishop Asiedu’s visit aimed to show solidarity and to understand the current activities of the DEPSOCOM. “I just wanted to say hello and see what is going on,” the Bishop remarked. He expressed his gratitude and satisfaction with the team’s efforts despite their limited resources.
“I know you lack so many things, but already you are working so hard, trying to do with what you have, to make the outside world know about what is happening in the Vicariate. I am very delighted about that,” he said.
Addressing the coordinator, he added, “Congratulations, kudos for the great work you are doing with your team.”
The visit was timely, as the DEPSOCOM team was testing new equipment recently acquired by the Bishop. During the visit, they discussed ways to improve the office, including better office space, additional personnel, and creating a website for the Vicariate.
Bishop Asiedu acknowledged the challenges in securing funds for these improvements but assured the team of his continued support. “We will also try our best to see what we can do to equip you so that your work can be enhanced. We are grateful. Be rest assured the Bishop is with you,” he stated.
On their part, the DEPSOCOM team expressed gratitude to the Bishop for his continuous support and promised to continue efforts to increase the visibility of the Vicariate.
The DEPSOCOM Office for the Apostolic Vicariate of Donkorkrom is located at the Afons Merten’s Centre on the St. Francis Xavier Cathedral compound, Donkorkrom.
