Director of the Weija Leprosarium, Rev. Fr. Andrew Campbell, SVD has said the Ghanaian society is not doing enough for the aged.
According to the Irish missionary priest, though a good number of the Ghanaian population is transitioning into the aged bracket, close to no attention is being paid to that category of people in terms of their welfare.
Speaking on the plight of the vulnerable, including cured lepers and the aged at the New Wine Temple of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) in Accra on June 12, Fr. Campbel narrated the ordeal such persons go through daily and called for compassion from all. Particularly, Christians.
“We are not doing enough for the aged,” Fr. Campbell said. “Is that how we treat people in Ghana?” He asked.
The East Legon Convocation of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) presented an award after his address in recognition of his extraordinary dedication and profound impact on society through his service to the less privileged in Ghana.
