The Catholic Diocese of Ho hosted the 2024 National Congress of our Mother of Perpetual Help Confraternity (OMPHC).
The 3-day National Congress held at the St Cecilia Catholic Church, Ho-Dome, from Thursday 27th to Sunday 30 June brought together over 800 participants from Dioceses across the Country.
The Congress which was on the theme “Make Mary Known” aimed to deepen devotion and intercession through embracing the Perpetual Help Confraternity Icon.
In an interview with Catholic Trends, Rev. Fr Mark Torwoe CSs.R, the Ho Diocesan Chaplain of OMPHC, urged all individuals to connect with the Mother of God and seek her intercession. He highlighted the significance of the her messages and miracles, encouraging devotees to fully engage with it to reap its benefits.
Fr. Torwoe emphasized Mary’s unwavering support and readiness to assist her children in times of need. Very Rev. Fr. Robert Billy Gbettey, National Spiritual Director stressed the importance of using the Congress as a platform to expand the awareness of Mother Mary to Dioceses that are yet to experience the spiritual essence of OMPHC.
He called for increased commitment, dedication, sacrifice, and zeal among members as they prepare for the 70th Anniversary of OMPHC in Ghana.
Fr. Billy Gbettey further emphasized the necessity for educating children in prayers to Perpetual Help and translating these prayers into various ethnic languages to draw more individuals into the Confraternity.
