Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Techiman-Ghana, Most Rev. Dominic Yeboah Nyarko has announced the appointment of Very Rev. Fr. Dominic Yaw Assuahene as the new Vicar General of the Diocese.
Fr. Assuahene who until his appointment served as the Chaplain of the Ghanaian Community in the UK also takes on the role of Parish Priest of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Tuobodom.
The announcement, made on August 15, 2024, reveals that Fr. Assuahene will be succeeding Very Rev. Fr. Paul Kwaku Ameyaw, who has served the Diocese diligently for the past sixteen years.
“Fr. Assuahene takes over both offices from Very Rev. Fr. Paul Kwaku Ameyaw, who has served for the past sixteen (16) years as the Chancellor (2008-2021) and as the Vicar General (2021-2024), and is currently due for sabbatical in the United States of America (USA),” Bishop Yeboah Nyarko said in a statement.
Fr. Assuahene’s new responsibilities will include overseeing the administrative and pastoral duties of the Diocese as its Vicar General while also leading the St. Francis of Assisi Parish.
