The Catholic Archdiocese of Antsiranana in Madagascar is set to host the Third National Eucharistic Congress (KEN 2024), which begins tomorrow, August 23, and will run through August 25.
The congress is expected to draw about forty thousand Catholic pilgrims.
The pilgrimage, according to organisers is an opportunity for the faithful to unite, strengthen their bond with Christ, and embrace the essence of the Eucharist as the cornerstone of their Christian lives.
The theme for KEN 2024, “Fraternity to Heal the World: You are all brothers and sisters (Mt 23:8),” aligns with that of the 53rd International Eucharistic Congress scheduled for September in Quito, Ecuador.
The Congress unofficially commenced with a National Youth Congress starting August 21, with pilgrims arriving in Antsiranana on August 20. The Youth Congress included Stations of the Cross and a meeting between youth and priests.
August 22 will feature catechesis, conferences, and testimonies, leading into the opening Holy Mass on August 23. The following days will include further conferences, a discussion on Pope Francis’ 2015 Encyclical Laudato Si’, and conclude with Holy Mass on August 25.
