Chairman of the Ghana National Catholic Youth Council (GHANCYC), has called on Catholic youth across Ghana to actively contribute their talents for the advancement of the Church.
He made the call at the opening ceremony of the 50th Anniversary of Ghana National Catholic Youth Council and the Ghana version of World Youth Day in the Catholic Diocese of Sunyani.
The GHANCYC Chairman emphasized that roles within the Church, including ushers, lectors, servers, and choir members, are meant for everyone, not just a selected few.
He called on the youth to use these celebrations as opportunities to publicize and propagate and evangelize the faith of the church.
He further urged all Catholic youth to preach and promote peace, stay away from trouble, obey all electoral laws as the general elections approach, and exercise their franchise by voting for a leader of their choice.
He called on Catholic youth to advocate for peace, adhere to electoral laws, and actively participate in the upcoming general elections by voting responsibly.
2024 marks the year of celebrations for the Catholic Church as two member bodies of GHANCYC, International Movement of Catholic Students IMCS PAX ROMANA Ghana Federation celebrated their 50th Anniversary and the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) celebrated their 75th Anniversary”
The twin Anniversary is on the theme GHANCYC @50; Fostering the Growth of Catholic Youth through Collaborative Ministry and Shaping Peaceful Election.
