The Archbishop of Gaborone in Botswana, Most Rev. Frank Atese Nubuasah, SVD, expressed sorrow at the passing of Br. Stephen Domelevo, SVD.
Br. Domelevo, known in the communication space and for the famous Catholic Digest programme in Ghana is said to have died on the morning of Thursday, September 26 at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC).
The member of the Society of the Divine Word, until his passing served as the Acting Director of Social Communication for the Catholic Archdiocese of Accra.
Reflecting on their shared journey, Archbishop Nubuasah lamented the loss of a dedicated confrere and friend, noting the impact of Br. Domelevo’s work within the Church. “The icy hands of death have robbed us of a good and efficient religious,” he said.
In honor of Br. Domelevo, the Archbishop said celebrated Holy Mass in his memory, praying for divine mercy.
He declared, “He enters heaven a gallant disciple of the Teacher,” a testament to Br. Domelevo’s unwavering faith and commitment to his mission. As the community grieves, Nubuasah added a poignant farewell: “Till we meet in joy in heaven. Farewell, my friend.”
