The final funeral rites for the late Brother Stephen Domelevo, SVD, have been announced by the Provincial Superior of the Society of the Divine Word (SVD) in Ghana.
In an official statement dated 27th September 2024, Very Rev. Fr. Cyprian Kuupol, SVD, expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the 67-year-old Br. Domelevo, who passed on 26th September 2024 at the University of Ghana Medical Centre after a short illness.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, 3rd October 2024, at the Holy Spirit Cathedral, Adabraka-Accra, with an Office of the Dead scheduled for 9:30 a.m., followed by the Requiem Mass at 10:00 a.m. His body will be laid for public viewing starting at 7:30 a.m., and interment will follow at Adoagyiri-Nsawam.
Br. Domelevo was a revered member of the SVD congregation, having joined in 1979. Throughout his life, he was deeply involved in media and social communications, contributing significantly to the Catholic Church’s outreach efforts in Ghana. His dedication to using communication as a tool for evangelization left a lasting impact on the Church’s mission to spread the Gospel.
Fr. Kuupol, in his announcement, called upon archbishops, bishops, and collaborators within the Church to join in the solemn celebration, giving Br. Domelevo a fitting farewell for his years of service to God and the Church.
