The newly appointed Apostolic Nuncio to Ghana, His Excellency Julien Kaboré is expected to arrive in Accra today, October 1.
Information available to Catholic Trends indicates that the Nuncio will be received this morning at the Kotoka International Airport.
On June 29, the Holy Father appointed then Monsignor Julien Kaboré as the new Apostolic Nuncio to Ghana. Elevating him to the Titular See of Milevi, with the dignity of Archbishop.
Speaking after his ordination and installation ceremonies in Rome on September 14, Archbishop Julien Kaboré pledged his commitment to advancing the strong relationship between Ghana and the Holy See.
The Nuncio expressed his gratitude for the warm reception from Ghanaian dignitaries and the local Church community while acknowledging the role of his predecessors.
“Let me thank Ghana. Dear Ghana thank you for your warm hospitality. So anticipated by some Ghanaians here. I think the ambassador is here with us and some Bishops. I will do my best to continue the good work of my esteemed predecessors and to strengthen the good relations which already exist between Ghana and the Holy See,” the Nuncio said.
Born on June 18, 1968, in Zorgho, Burkina Faso, Archbishop Kaboré was ordained a priest on July 8, 1995. He is a member of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Koupéla. Archbishop Kaboré holds a degree in Canon Law and has extensive experience in the diplomatic service of the Holy See.
Since joining the diplomatic service on July 1, 2004, Archbishop Kaboré has served in various capacities in Apostolic Nunciatures around the world, including in Kenya, Papua New Guinea, Costa Rica, Korea, Croatia, Trinidad and Tobago, the Philippines, and Ireland. He is fluent in English, Italian, and Spanish.
