The Archdiocese of Cape Coast is in mourning following the sudden death of Rev. Fr. Samuel Akoto Mensah, who passed away on Thursday morning.
In an official announcement, Very Rev. Fr. Bonaventure Annan, Vicar General of the Archdiocese, expressed profound sorrow over the loss, extending heartfelt condolences to all priests, religious, and lay faithful. He called on the faithful to pray for the peaceful repose of Fr. Akoto Mensah’s soul and for comfort for his family.
Rev. Fr. Akoto Mensah was a beloved figure, having served the Church for 29 years in various roles and parishes. Most recently, he was the National Director of Religious Education and Catechetics in Ghana, where he played a key role in shaping religious education and faith formation programs across the country.
According to the statement, funeral arrangements will be finalized and communicated in due course. Fr. Akoto Mensah’s passing marks a significant loss for both his family and the Archdiocese.
