The Immaculate Conception of Mary Catholic Church in Tsiame, part of the Keta-Akatsi Diocese, is set to commemorate a major milestone on Sunday, 13th October 2024.
The celebrations will include the solemn dedication and consecration of the church’s altar, and the official launch of its centenary celebrations, honoring 100 years of spiritual growth and community service.
Founded in 1924, the Immaculate Conception of Mary Catholic Church has long served as a beacon of faith and charity in Tsiame. Over the past century, it has played a key role in promoting education, health care, and social welfare in the area, contributing to the Diocese’s mission of evangelization and development.
The day’s celebration will commence with a Holy Mass presided over by the Bishop of Keta-Akatsi Diocese, Most Rev. Gabriel Edoe Kumordji, SVD, and concelebrated by Rev. Fr. Gustave Adzaho, the Parish Priest. It is expected to draw a large congregation, including dignitaries, church members, and the local community, all gathered to celebrate the church’s spiritual journey and continued legacy.
The dedication and consecration of the altar, a rare and sacred Catholic rite, symbolizes the church’s commitment to deeper spiritual renewal and dedication to God’s work. The launch of the centenary celebration will reflect on the church’s impact over the years and inspire the community to look forward to future growth and service.
