The Keta-Akatsi Diocese has announced the final funeral rites for Msgr. William Techie.
In an official statement dated 18th November 2024, the Bishop of Keta Akatsi Diocese, Most Rev. Gabriel Edoe Kumordji SVD, expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the 66-year-old Monsignor, who passed on at the Richard Novati Catholic Hospital, Sogakope on Saturday, 16 November 2024 after a short illness.
The funeral will be held on 4th December 2024 at Christ the King Cathedral, Akatsi at 9:00am with an Office of the Dead followed by the Requiem Mass.
Msgr William Techie was ordained into the Priesthood on 29th July 1989 and was made a Monsignor (Domestic Prelate of the Holy Father) on 22 June 2024.
Until his demise, he was the Deputy Coordinator of Socio-Economic Development Office of the Diocese.
The Bishop of Keta Akatsi encouraged all faithful to pray for the peaceful repose of the soul of Msgr. William Techie and console his immediate family and all who served him during his lifetime
