Dear Beloved Youth of the Catholic Church
As we approach the upcoming national elections on December 7, I write to you with a message of hope, responsibility, and unity. This is a defining moment in our country’s history, and as young Catholics, we are called to be active, law-abiding citizens who participate not only in the electoral process but also in fostering peace and respect in our communities.
Your Role in the Upcoming Election
As young people, we hold the future of our nation in our hands. The choices we make on December 7th will shape the direction of our country for years to come. It is vital that each of you exercises your right to vote, for your voice matters. The election is not just a duty; it is an opportunity to stand for values of justice, dignity, peace and principles that are central to our Catholic faith.
In preparation for this day, I urge you to be well-informed about the candidates and the issues at stake. Pray for guidance, and choose leaders who promote the common good, respect for human life, and justice for all. Your vote is a reflection of your faith in action.
Be Law-Abiding Citizens
As Catholics, we are called to be witnesses of Christ’s love and justice in all aspects of life. As you head to the polls on December 7th, I ask you to follow the law and ensure that your actions reflect our values. Vote with integrity, respecting the rules of the election process, and encourage others to do the same. Remember, our faith calls us to uphold the law and act with honesty and fairness.
Promote Peace and Unity
Elections can often stir up division, but we are called to be peacemakers. During this period, let us commit to respecting each other’s opinions, avoiding any form of violence or hate speech, and embracing the beauty of peaceful dialogue. The election should not be a cause for conflict but an occasion to engage with our fellow citizens in a spirit of respect and love.
Let us also be vigilant in rejecting any form of violence or intimidation that may arise. If you encounter such situations, do not be swayed, and always report any concerns to the appropriate authorities. Our mission is to build up, not tear down.
Pray for Our Country
I encourage you to pray for wisdom and discernment as you prepare to cast your vote. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you in making choices that reflect Christ’s values of peace, justice, and love. Let us also pray for the leaders of our country, that they may govern with wisdom and humility, always striving to serve the common good of all people.
A Call to Action
I believe in each of you—the future of our Church and our nation. Let us go out on December 7th, not only to vote but to show the world what it means to be young people of faith, integrity, and peace. Together, we can be a force for positive change, building a future that reflects the light of Christ in every corner of our society.
May the Lord bless you as you prepare for this important day, and may He grant us all peace, unity, and wisdom.
