The Accra Archdiocesan Catholic Youth Formation Centre has received a generous donation of essential kitchen equipment from the Archdiocesan Catholic Women Council.
The items, which include a deep freezer, oven, two gas stoves, cooking utensils, and cutlery, were funded through a fundraising initiative during the Women’s Union of Catholic Organisations (WUCWO) Day celebration at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Nungua.
Prior to the donation on 16th December 2024, the Council also carried out refurbishment work on the Centre’s kitchen.
Rev. Fr. Alphonse Bulloro, Director of the Youth Formation Centre, led a simple presentation ceremony, blessing both the donated items and the newly refurbished kitchen.
Mrs. Mary Baffoe Ashun, Chairperson of the Women Council, highlighted the importance of creating a “home away from home” for the youth and revealed that the total cost of the project was approximately GHC50,000.
She expressed gratitude to Mrs. Rita Amivi Worth Seddoh and Auntie Rita for their efforts in garnering additional support.
Mr. Augustine Kwame Dagbey, Chairperson of the Accra Archdiocesan Catholic Youth Council, thanked the Women Council for their thoughtfulness.
For his part, the Chaplain of the youth in the Archdiocese, Rev. Fr. Bulloro emphasised how the donations would ease meal preparations for seminarians and other groups visiting the Centre.
The event was attended by youth from the Centre, representatives of the Women Council, and other members of the Youth Council.
