The Union Catholique Africaine de la Presse (UCAP), in partnership with the Catholic Association of Media Practitioners-Ghana (CAMP-G), has announced the upcoming African Triennial Congress, set to take place from 10 to 17 August 2025 in Accra, Ghana.
The event is expected to be held at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) at Legon.
The theme for the 2025 congress, “Balancing Technological Progress and the Preservation of Human Values in the Age of Artificial Intelligence”, promises to spark important discussions on the intersection of technology, human rights, and the role of media in modern Africa.
The congress will address a wide range of important issues, including corporate social responsibility in managing the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on human values, as well as the opportunities and challenges of deploying AI in eco-friendly business start-ups across Africa.
Discussions will also explore how technology is reshaping social reality, the distortion of reality in social and digital media, and the role of media in promoting ecological education and action against the unsustainable exploitation of natural resources.
Additionally, the event will focus on how the media can support and promote the recommendations of the Synod on Synodality in Africa, ensuring that the Church’s guidance is shared and applied throughout the continent.
