The 2025 Study Session of the Accra Zonal Provincial Council has officially commenced at the Catholic Youth Formation Centre in Lashibi, within the Archdiocese of Accra, Ghana.
The four-day event has brought together young Catholics from six dioceses within the Accra Province, namely: Koforidua, Ho, Keta-Akatsi, Jasikan, the Apostolic Vicariate of Donkorkrom, and the host, Accra Archdiocese.
This year’s theme, “Laudato Si: Caring for Our Common Home,” is inspired by Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato Si, which calls for urgent global action to protect the environment and promote sustainable development.
Organizers have promised an engaging and insightful program, as participants delve into discussions on Laudato Si and pressing challenges facing young people in the Church and society. The study session provides a unique opportunity for young Catholics to exchange ideas, deepen their faith, and strengthen their sense of unity across diocesan lines.

Beyond discussions, the event is expected to be a hub of activity, with participants engaging in interactive workshops, team-building exercises, and networking opportunities aimed at fostering leadership and personal growth. The gathering also presents a valuable platform for youth to explore innovative ways of integrating Catholic social teachings into their daily lives and communities.
As young Catholics from across Ghana’s Accra Province take part in this year’s study session, the event reinforces the Church’s mission of nurturing environmentally conscious, socially responsible, and faith-driven leaders who will champion the call to care for creation in line with Pope Francis’ vision for a just and sustainable world.
