The Catholic Diocese of Bo, Sierra Leone has officially commissioned animators of the Holy Childhood Association (HCA), marking a significant step in strengthening the Pontifical Mission Societies within the Church.
The commissioning took place on February 28 during Holy Mass, presided over by His Lordship, Most Rev. Charles Allieu Matthew Campbell.
The event followed an intensive three-day workshop facilitated by the Our Lady of Apostles (OLA) Sisters, Maureen and Theresa.
The workshop equipped over 40 animators from the Bo Deanery, alongside the HCA Director, Rev. Fr. Johnbull Brashay, and Coordinator, Sr. Marie Claude Anasonye, with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively carry out their mission.
In his address, Bishop Campbell reaffirmed his commitment to the association, providing essential materials and resources to support the animators in their pastoral duties. Concelebrating the Mass with him were the Vicar General, Rev. Fr. Moses Kawa, and PMS Director, Rev. Fr. Johnbull Brashay.
Expressing gratitude, Sr. Anasonye lauded the Bishop’s dedicated support, describing his contributions as instrumental to the growth of the association in the diocese. She prayed for continued strength and enthusiasm in carrying out the mission for the glory of God and the sanctification of souls.
The Holy Childhood Association is one of the four key Pontifical Mission Societies of the Catholic Church, dedicated to the spiritual formation of children and youth.
The commissioning of animators is expected to enhance the association’s outreach, fostering a deeper commitment to faith and service among young Catholics in the Diocese of Bo.
