The Missionary Childhood Society, known for its motto “Children helping children, children praying for children, and children evangelizing children,” has demonstrated its commitment to uplifting young lives.
On Tuesday, March 18, 2025, as part of Lenten observances in this Jubilee Year of Hope, the society, in the Goaso Diocese in Ghana donated over 100 pairs of footwear to children at the Roman Catholic Primary and Junior High School in Abuom, Asunafo South District, Ahafo Region.
This act of kindness was accompanied by prayers for their fellow children, reinforcing the spirit of Christian love.
The donation, presented on behalf of Most Rev. Peter Kwaku Atuahene, Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Goaso, was overseen by key diocesan representatives, including Rev. Fr. Martin Yaw Adjei, Sr. Magdalene Kwofie, and Rev. Fr. Lawrence Adu-Gyamfi. They were joined by Rev. Fr. John Mary Appiadu and Missionary Animator Bismark Aziagbedor.
Welcoming the delegation, Rev. Fr. Sylvester Baffour Awuah, Parish Priest of St. Joseph Parish, Abuom, emphasized the importance of children supporting one another and encouraged similar acts of generosity.
Expressing their gratitude, the school’s Headmaster, Mr. Frank Obiri Yeboah, and Church President, Mr. Albert Owusu, highlighted the significance of the donation and called for more support to enhance the well-being of the children.
This charitable initiative embodies the Missionary Childhood Society’s dedication to solidarity and hope, ensuring that young lives are touched with love and care.
