The Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference (GCBC) has announced the 2026 national celebration of the annual Mass for the beatification of the Servant of God, Peter Cardinal Porekuu Dery.
The annual Mass, scheduled for March 7, forms part of the Church’s continued prayer for the advancement of the beatification cause of the late Ghanaian Cardinal, whose life of humility, charity and dedication to authentic worship continues to inspire many within the Catholic faithful.
In a reminder issued to priests and consecrated persons, the President of the GCBC, Matthew Kwasi Gyamfi, Bishop of Sunyani, urged that Holy Mass be celebrated each year on March 7 for the cause.
The bishops further invited all the faithful to unite in prayer, asking the Lord to grant the grace of Cardinal Dery’s beatification, while reflecting on his witness of faith and service to the Church.
The statement encouraged Catholics across the country to participate devoutly in the Mass and to pray for the success of the cause, trusting in the powerful intercession of the Servant of God.
