CATHOLICS AND FREEMANSONRY

My dearly beloved, in recent times, there has been a surge on whether the Catholic Church has changed her position regarding her teaching concerning Freemasons. The answer is simply “No”. The Church has not changed her position on Freemasons. You can’t be a true Catholic and a Freemason at the same time.

Many of our Catholics, especially the Young Adults, need to know this and follow the Church for direction, especially at a time when some people are presenting Freemasonry as an association worth being affiliated to. As a Church, the words of Proverbs 22:6, are of great importance in moulding our younger generation, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.”

On November 26, 1983, the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith in the document called “Declaration on Masonic Associations” declared that “Masonic principles are irreconcilable with the doctrine of the Church, and that Catholic membership in Freemasonry remains forbidden”. Catholics who are Freemasons are, therefore, in grave sin and may not receive Holy Communion.

I quote from the Declaration, “Therefore the Church’s negative judgment in regard to Masonic association remains unchanged since their principles have always been considered irreconcilable with the doctrine of the Church and therefore membership in them remains forbidden. The faithful who enroll in Masonic associations are in a state of grave sin and may not receive Holy Communion.”

Some tenets of Freemasonry contradict the teachings of the Catholic Church. Let me present some examples at this point. The Masons have denigrated Jesus Christ, our Lord, and God, and have put him at the same level as Buddha, Krishna, Confucius, etc. Prayers through Christ are omitted and addressed to the Great Architect of the Universe. Yes, freemasonry wants the destruction of Christianity, and no one can claim to be a proud Catholic and a Freemason.

More so, as we celebrate today, the Sunday of the Word of God, it is important for us to note that the Freemasons put the Bible and other religious writings at the same level. This is absolutely preposterous. In Matthew 6:24, the Lord mentions emphatically, “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other” (Mt 6:24).

Therefore, Catholics are banned from all forms of freemasonry.

Let us kindly take note of this, and may the Holy Spirit continue to enlighten us to follow His path. Thank you very much.

Friday of the Eighth week in Ordinary Time

First Letter of Peter 4,7-13.

Beloved: The end of all things is at hand. Therefore, be... serious and sober for prayers.
Above all, let your love for one another be intense, because love covers a multitude of sins.
Be hospitable to one another without complaining.
As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God's varied grace.
Whoever preaches, let it be with the words of God; whoever serves, let it be with the strength that God supplies, so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
Beloved, do not be surprised that a trial by fire is occurring among you, as if something strange were happening to you.
But rejoice to the extent that you share in the sufferings of Christ, so that when his glory is revealed you may also rejoice exultantly.

Psalms 96(95),10.11-12.13.

Say among the nations: The LORD is king.
He... has made the world firm, not to be moved;
He governs the peoples with equity.

Let the heavens be glad and the earth rejoice;
let the sea and what fills it resound;
let the plains be joyful and all that is in them.
Then shall all the trees of the forest exult before the LORD.

The LORD comes,
he comes to rule the earth.
He shall rule the world with justice
and the peoples with his constancy.

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Mark 11,11-26.

Jesus entered Jerusalem and went into the... temple area. He looked around at everything and, since it was already late, went out to Bethany with the Twelve.
The next day as they were leaving Bethany he was hungry.
Seeing from a distance a fig tree in leaf, he went over to see if he could find anything on it. When he reached it he found nothing but leaves; it was not the time for figs.
And he said to it in reply, "May no one ever eat of your fruit again!" And his disciples heard it.
They came to Jerusalem, and on entering the temple area he began to drive out those selling and buying there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who were selling doves.
He did not permit anyone to carry anything through the temple area.
Then he taught them saying, "Is it not written: 'My house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples'? But you have made it a den of thieves."
The chief priests and the scribes came to hear of it and were seeking a way to put him to death, yet they feared him because the whole crowd was astonished at his teaching.
When evening came, they went out of the city.
Early in the morning, as they were walking along, they saw the fig tree withered to its roots.
Peter remembered and said to him, "Rabbi, look! The fig tree that you cursed has withered."
Jesus said to them in reply, "Have faith in God.
Amen, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it shall be done for him.
Therefore I tell you, all that you ask for in prayer, believe that you will receive it and it shall be yours.
When you stand to pray, forgive anyone against whom you have a grievance, so that your heavenly Father may in turn forgive you your transgressions."
