The Catholic Diocese of Jasikan has announced that the Episcopal Ordination of Rev. Msgr. Simon Kofi Appiah (PhD), Bishop-Elect of the Diocese, will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the St. Peter Claver Cathedral, Jasikan, in the Oti Region of Ghana.

The announcement was contained in an official notification dated January 22, 2026, issued on behalf of the outgoing Bishop, Most Rev. Gabriel A. A. Mante, together with the clergy, religious, and lay faithful of the Diocese.

According to the notice, activities marking the ordination will span a full week, from Monday, April 6 to Sunday, April 12, 2026, with a detailed programme to be communicated in due course.

As part of the spiritual preparations toward the historic event, the Diocese will also observe a Diocesan Novena ahead of the ordination. The Director of Liturgy is expected to communicate the modalities and dates for the novena in the coming weeks.

The Episcopal Ordination of Rev. Msgr. Simon Kofi Appiah is expected to be a significant moment in the life of the Catholic Diocese of Jasikan and the wider Catholic community in Ghana.
