The Catholic faithful in the Jasikan Diocese have warmly welcomed Bishop-Elect Monsignor Simon Kofi Appiah as he prepares to assume office as the second Bishop of the Diocese after his ordination and installation ceremonies on April 11, 2026.
The joyous occasion was marked by a vibrant gathering of clergy, religious groups, and lay faithful who turned out in large numbers to receive their new shepherd.
The atmosphere was filled with excitement and spiritual favour as traditional drumming, singing, and dancing accompanied the procession. Parishioners from across the Diocese converged to express their unity and anticipation for a new chapter in the life of the local Church.
In a symbolic gesture of respect and collaboration, The Bishop-Elect was formally introduced to the traditional authorities of Jasikan by outgoing Bishop, Most Rev. Gabriel Ababio Mante.
Clergy and Lay faithful expressed their support and readiness to collaborate with the Bishop-Elect in advancing the mission of the Church in bringing renewed energy to pastoral activities within the Diocese.
The Bishop-Elect is expected to be ordained and installed on April 11.
