The Holy Father, Pope Francis has extended his blessings and prayers to the members of the Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference as they gather for their 2024 Plenary Assembly.
The meeting, which opened on November 11 in Ghana’s Diocese of Obuasi, will run through November 15, focusing on the theme “Jubilee Year: A Time to Proclaim Christ, Hope for the Church and Ghana.”
Delivering the Pope’s message, the Apostolic Nuncio to Ghana, His Excellency Julien Kaboré said the Pontiff expresses his joy over the theme of the assembly, emphasizing the importance of the Jubilee Year in deepening the Church’s commitment to the proclamation of the Gospel.
The Holy Father assured the Bishops of his prayers, hoping that the discussions during the plenary will lead to a renewed dedication to synodality—a collaborative, inclusive approach to Church governance—and a fresh zeal for preaching the Gospel through both words and actions.
